Even Tony Snow is ditching Bush

President Bush publicly announced on Friday that his press secretary Tony Snow is leaving his post on September 14, according to FoxNews.com. First Karl Rove, now Tony Snow. No question that this is the lame duck stage. Bush will have no one left by the time his term is up in January 2009. There isn't going to be anyone to help him shred documents.

The Patriots chances this year

The NFL preseason will be wrapping up this weekend and I thought this would be a good time to assess my team, the Patriots. With three preseason games in the can, the Pats look real good going into the regular season. My number one concern has been resolved, Asante Samuel's contract holdout. I'm still worried on how Laurence Maroney is going to hold up for a whole season. Maroney, in both college and the pros, has never been the feature back. He has always shared the load with another person. The age of the Patriots linebacker corps is another minor concern, but not so much as compared to last year now that the team has Adalius Thomas.

The Pats offense should be its most explosive since Tom Brady became the quarterback. I don't see defenses being able to stop this offense. If an opposing team's defensive coordinator tries to put eight men in the box to stop Maroney, then Brady will just go over the top to Moss or Stallworth. The reverse is true also, if teams try to take away the pass using a nickel or dime defense, the Patriots will just run it at them with Maroney. Anything less than the AFC championship and I will be severely disappointed.

Perhaps the next Google?

Like most Internet-savy people, I swear by one search engine, Google of course. Once in awhile I might use Yahoo or Dogpile if I don't find what I'm looking for on Google, which is rare. There has been many search engines that Google has left in the dust: Altavista, Ask.com, MSN Search, etc. Now there is another young upstart on the scene looking to cut into Google's dominating market share. Sproose. It's a search engine that allows users to vote on how relevant the search results are. CNET News Blog has more. This is a new twist to the tired search engine model and might just work.

Time to get the red out

I was bored last night and realized I hadn't created anything new in Photoshop in awhile. Being a man of action, I sought to correct this problem right away. I like to take photos I've taken and manipulate them. I never want to repeat what I've done before and always look to make something different. I took some of my photos from Vienna and gave them different shades of red. Each shade of red evoked a different mood.

Don't Swim Near a Seal or You Could be Shark Food

When you're at the beach this weekend, resist the temptation to swim near seals or you could be shark food. Especially if you're at a beach in Chatham, Mass. You see, the sharks like to eat seals and if a human is nearby, well, for them its like getting extra gravy.
